Physical & Wellness Exams

Regular physical examinations are one of the best ways to keep your pet healthy. These allow our doctors to stay familiar with your pet and catch potential health issues before they become serious. Our exams include a review of your pet’s physical condition from nose to tail. We will also collect information about body weight, feeding, exercise and your pets overall lifestyle. Immunizations

We offer an up-to-date core vaccination protocol that is designed specifically to protect our patients from the potential disease exposures common to our area. Presently, our core vaccinations include Canine and Feline Distemper, Rabies, Bordetella and FELV. If we find out that you and your pet’s lifestyle requires other vaccinations to keep them protected, we will make the appropriate recommendations. Other non-core vaccinations that are relevant to some areas of California are Leptospirosis, Lyme and Rattlesnake. Please ask at your next Wellness Exam how these diseases are spread and how your pet may be exposed.

Dentistry

Laboratory Health Screening & Analysis

Our in-house laboratory allows us to offer Complete Blood Counts and full blood chemistries, urinalysis, and a wide range of health screenings and tests without the wait of sending samples out for processing. However, when needed, we use the industry’s largest and most experienced reference lab for diagnostics beyond the capability of our lab. Wellness blood screening and physical exams are excellent methods to assure your pet’s total health status.

Flea & Tick Prevention

Ventura is home to a number of parasites and pests. Mission Animal Hospital carries a number of products to prevent heartworm disease and keep your pet safe from internal parasitic infections, as well as topical infestations of fleas, ticks, lice and mites. We are always happy to answer your specific questions. Please ask your veterinarian to explain the risks and management of these issues.

Surgery

We offer a full range of soft-tissue and hard-tissue surgery. For complicated cases, we procure the services of board certified experts that come in house, making Mission Animal Hospital your full-service clinic for all pet health needs.
